    We are looking for a dedicated individual, who enjoys working in a team environment, to join our Clinical Services team as a Referral Management Coordinator.
    What you'll be doing:
    This individual executes the referral process according to policy and ensures a thorough, accurate evaluation of potential organ donor referrals. Evaluation is carried out both remotely and on-site at donor hospitals across the state of Nebraska. Daily activities include receiving referrals, collaborating with hospital partners to collect potential donor demographics, collaborating with hospital staff on-site to optimize pre-authorization treatment and maximize the opportunity for donation, assisting with the process of brain death declaration, and any other pre-authorization duties deemed necessary.
    You will be responsible for:
    • Receive referrals from across the state of Nebraska:
    • Carry out initial phone screening of referrals in collaboration with hospital staff.
    • Respond on-site within pre-determined time frames and perform in-person assessment of donor and provide education to hospital staff.
    • Perform EMR evaluation and preliminary suitability determination in collaboration with other team members.
    • Build internal EMR charts with all data points collected through EMR and On-Site assessment.
    • Participate on-site in clinical referral assessment.
    • Collaborate with hospital providers and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure medical management supports maintaining the opportunity for organ donation.
    • Facilitate accurate brain death testing and documentation under hospital policy and legal compliance.
    • Complete all documentation under regulatory standards and submit all documentation to the quality department for review.
    • Perform all quality follow-up tasks to ensure accurate documentation.
    • Collaborate closely with all members of the Live On Nebraska team.
    • Participate in departmental and organizational meetings, educational activities, quality assurance initiatives, and required training as assigned.

    What skills & experience you'll bring to us:
    • Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, Paramedic/EMT, or have prior clinical experience working in another OPO.
    • Current experience working in a critical care or emergency care setting required.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain an ACLS, PALS, and BLS certification.
    • Maintain a valid driver's license and personal auto insurance.
    • Familiarity with EMR usage (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, internal EMR systems)
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
    • Ability to function well in a high-paced and stressful environment.

    Schedule:
    • Minimum of 24, 12-hour call shifts over a 2-month period on a flexible schedule.
    • Day/Night rotations on an average of every 2 months to stratify experience levels on shift and meet the needs of the team.
    ** Training may require more travel and call shifts to gain proper experience. **
