- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to identify opportunities for tax savings and minimize tax liabilities for clients.
- Assist clients with tax planning strategies, including evaluating the tax implications of business transactions, investments, and estate planning.
- Stay up-to-date on changes to tax laws and regulations, advising clients on the potential impact of legislative developments on their tax obligations.
- Provide guidance and support to clients during tax audits, responding to inquiries from tax authorities and assisting with the resolution of tax issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, earning their trust and confidence through professionalism, expertise, and excellent service.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless coordination of tax services and deliverables for clients.
- Mentor and train junior staff members, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and expertise in tax accounting.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 5 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in simple terms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (Thomson Reuters a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite, & QB.
- Commitment to ethical and professional standards in tax accounting.
