    Description

    SC Engineering is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (PE) to join our team. Responsibilities include:

    • Provide engineering and 3D Revit support for multiple projects that include HVAC and plumbing.
    • Perform HVAC load calculations, ductwork static pressure calculations, and pump head calculations.
    • Performs detailed phases of engineering work on major projects or total engineering work on projects of smaller or moderate scope.
    • May devise new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicates changes to the team.
    • Supervise and coordinate the work of less experienced engineers and designers and be responsible for checking a portion or all of the drawings completed on the project within the discipline.
    • Take part in client contact and business development activities.
    • Meets with client to define project scope, present project progress, and assure client satisfaction.
    • Write portions or all of the specifications and assist in or prepare total cost estimates.
    • Develops engineering concepts and presentations.
    • Coordinates work with other disciplines.
    • Keeps current on new design methods and ideas.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college program, which qualifies for licensure in the state of Tennessee, is required. Licensed in multiple states is a plus.
    • PE, plus six (6) or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s) required.
    • Experience with, and the ability to size HVAC equipment, duct equipment, and utility piping systems and plumbing systems.
    • Knowledge and experience using REVIT, as well as Microsoft Software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Commercial projects is a plus.
    • Good communication skills.
