- Manage accounting staff, hiring, training, provide leadership and mentorship.
- Collaborate with senior management to support strategic financial decision-making, through financial modeling and data analytics.
- Work cross-functionally to prepare bottoms-up budgets, financial models and maintain forecasts.
- Understand, implement, and document new accounting standards on timely basis.
- Manage relationships with banks, insurance brokers, auditors, tax, etc.
- Enhance and develop internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP, tax and internal control framework.
- Overseeing financial regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance.
- Reviewing high risk accounting areas, such as complex account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Prepare timely, accurate, and useful financials and reports and actionable KPIs.
- Undertaking special projects and analysis as required by the VP of Finance.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of year-end and quarterly financial statements.
- Planning, directing, and leading all corporate accounting activities, including supervising General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll activities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA (Strongly Preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Ability to efficiently manipulate and utilize data via pivot tables, lookups, index match, etc.
- Development and management of KPIs and Board reporting
- Tax compliance experience
- Experience managing bank, insurance, and audit/tax related relationships
- Thorough knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
- Experience in cost accounting and variance analysis
- A proven track record of leading process improvement and change management initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detailed understanding of complex financial reporting requirements
- Ability to effectively research and document complex accounting transactions.

Position Summary:
The Controller will support the Finance Vice President in enabling the company mission and business strategy by executing the financial strategy of the organization. They will direct all aspects of the company's accounting, financial, and risk management operations. They will contribute to the company's financial success through leadership in the areas of forecasting, planning, budgeting, financial analysis, billing, collections, payables, payroll, and cash management.
