JOB PURPOSE:
The Organ Preservation Specialist is responsible for procurement activities related to the surgical removal, preservation, and transportation of organs. This involves working collaboratively with department staff members, physicians, and organ procurement organizations.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school diploma. Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two or more years of operating room experience as a Surgical Technologist, or experience with organ preservation.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/
CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Certification as a Surgical Technologist Required or Licensed as an LPN required. BLS certification required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP) or Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) preferred
