    Entry level / apprentice grounds man and climbing arborist in forestry/residential tree trimming, tree removal and cleanup. Brush chipping and chainsaw operator and tree thinning work. On the job training available.
    TCIA and ISA training credentials available.
    ODL required.

    Job Summary: As a Climbing Arborist Apprentice, you will work alongside our experienced team of arborists to learn the art and science of tree care. Your main responsibilities will include assisting senior arborists in tree pruning, trimming, and removal projects, both in residential and commercial settings. You will receive hands-on training in tree climbing techniques, equipment handling, and safe work practices. This apprenticeship provides a unique opportunity to develop essential skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career as a production arborist. Your education start on the ground and progress from there. A fast learner with natural aptitude will be able to complete complex prunes/removals by their 2 year mark.

    Key Responsibilities:

    · Participate in daily team meetings and project planning sessions.

    · Perform ground support duties such as debris removal, chipping, and site cleanup.

    · Learn and follow proper climbing techniques, knots, and rigging methods under the guidance of experienced climbers.

    · Assist in tree pruning, trimming, and removal operations under the guidance of experienced arborists.

    · Learn proper use and maintenance of arboricultural tools and equipment. Including chainsaw, hand pruners/saws, and pole tools.

    · Understand and adhere to safety guidelines and industry best practices.

    · Learn to identify tree species and understand their specific care requirements.

    · Learn to identify potential hazards and assess tree health.

    · Maintain a professional and positive attitude while representing the company to clients and the public.

    Qualifications:

    · Strong passion for trees, the environment, and outdoor work.

    · Basic knowledge of tree care or arboriculture is desirable but not mandatory.

    · Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous outdoor tasks in various weather conditions. Previous experience in outdoor or manual labor is desirable but not required.

    · Comfort with heights and a willingness to work at various elevations while climbing trees. (Be honest about this)

    · Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

    · Attention to detail and commitment to safety.

    · Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

    · Positive attitude and ability to adapt in complex situations.

    · Ability to take direction and openness to learn.
