Job Title: Senior Buyer

The Senior Buyer position will manage purchasing and inventory management of indirect materials for a high volume contract manufacturer. Functional responsibility includes coordinating requests and placing orders for items such as lab supplies, office supplies and spare parts. This role will be among the expert users of Denison's ERP system, Macola. The ideal candidate will be motivated individual with a depth of experience in procurement in a liquid filling and packaging environment.

Senior Buyer Position Responsibilities

• Monitor stock levels Process purchase orders, develops bids and proposals as needed and reconcile any invoice discrepancies
• Approve invoices and maintain receipts, records, and inventories
• Verify purchase requirements by comparing them to a master list and recommending alternatives for expensive or irrelevant products
• Interacting with suppliers to manage pricing, delivery times and resolve shipping errors
• Implement and manage the indirect spend process across all departments in the organization
• Standardize and improve buying patterns (for example via consolidation of orders, reviewing recurring bills etc)
• Drive cost reductions across the organization for any indirect spend item (maintenance of building facilities, pallets, cleaning supplies etc)
• Manage contracts for outside service (lab coats, cleaning supplies, etc.) across all departments
• Support Supplier Management to implement cost savings projects and manage Quality-related issues
• Evaluating suppliers by considering price, quality, availability, and other criteria
• Prepare and submit detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures etc.)
• Keep updated records

Senior Buyer Position Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Procurement / Operations Management or related field required
• 5+ years of purchasing experience, with strong negotiation skills
• Strong knowledge of procurement and inventory management systems
• Expert in ERP system use and improvement. Macole ERP experience is preferred
• High level of experience with Excel, Word, MRP, and other software as the job dictates
• Experience with cGMP- or ISO-certified operations preferred
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement preferred
• Demonstrated creative critical thinker with strong analytical skills
• Excellent collaboration capabilities, with an ability to influence laterally and upwardly
• Outstanding communication skills

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and move up to a max. of 50 pounds.
• Employee will be subject to dust, noise, fumes and odors.
