- Ability to perform quality sonographic procedures
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively with others
- Operate all sonographic equipment according to equipment specifications.
- Produce quality sonograms consistently within ACR department protocols.
- Follow good radiation safety practices when applicable (i.e. ALARA) according to state and federal guidelines.
- Maintain patient records according the department standards.
- Demonstrates the ability to rotate and provide services at all facilities. Exhibits team participation by taking monthly call, work open shift coverages, and participate in daily coverage.
- Properly assess patient according to exam ordered with appropriate documentation (i.e. check order, review previous images, check lab values when indicated, prep, screen for possible pregnancy, appropriate history, involve Imaging nurse when indicated, compliance with OB/GYN specific guidelines).
- Provide patient education pertinent to exam being performed and document in patient EMR.
- Compliance in accurately and completely utilizing RIS according to department standards (i.e., order, arrive, start, complete, cancel, record complications and drug history.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including: non-technical duties as assigned (i.e., stock rooms, transport patients, training of new staff and students, special projects and other duties. Attends departmental meetings.

Job Summary
Under the direction of a Radiologist and Supervisor, performs ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative to apply ultrasound for sonographic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures required. The scope of care includes age groups ranging from newborn to elderly.
