    Position Summary:

    Clean and maintain all items and surfaces in designated areas, ensuring hotel's standards of cleanliness. Maintain a professional friendly demeanor with co-workers and guests and provide help when asked to do so.

    Responsibilities: These requirements/functions may change over the course of employment.

    • Maintain positive guest relations by having knowledge of and complying with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
    • Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
    • Review assignment sheet and update completed assignments. Check with the Supervisor for additional assignments throughout the shift.
    • Enter guest rooms following procedures for gaining access and ensuring vacancy before entering.
    • Replace dirty linens and towels with clean items. Make beds and fold towels.
    • Clean bathrooms.
    • Straighten and clean desk items, furniture, and appliances.
    • Dust, polish, and remove marks from walls and furnishings.
    • Vacuum carpets, upholstered furniture and perform other form floor care duties (e.g., in guest rooms and hallway).
    • Review assigned area and complete general removal of any trash or debris.
    • Check that all appliances are clean and do not have remaining items from previous guests and are present in the room and in working order.
    • Stock cleaning carts with designated supplies and equipment.
    • Report any room damages to Supervisor.
    • Dust and polish all woodwork.
    • Clean all lamps, light fixtures, and light switches, check for proper working condition.
    • Empty trash containers in public areas.
    • Empty vacuum cleaner bags, replace bag, and clean machine.
    • Replace facial and toilet tissues, paper hand towels, and soaps in correct amount and location.
    • Sweep front entrance daily.
    • Sweep and rinse off the pool deck daily.
    • Remove soiled towels from pool area and return them to Laundry.
    • Turn over any lost and found items to the Supervisor.
    • Perform other duties as required by management.
    • Assist with laundry.

    Requirements:
    • Ability to follow instructions, directions and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to think clearly, remain calm, and solve problems using good judgment.
    • Desire to understand guests' service needs.
    • Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extend arms overhead when performing cleaning tasks and the ability to stoop, bend and squat.
    • Ability to visually inspect guest rooms, public areas, service areas, etc. for quality in cleanliness and presentation.
    • Able to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
