Description

This position is a part-time instructor for the Business, Certification and Licensure program at Hagerstown Community College. Adjunct Instructors teach courses approved by the Program Manager and Dean. The number of courses taught per semester varies based on the instructor's area of expertise, student interest, and other scheduled courses.

Course topics in Business, Certification and Licensure include Management, Leadership, Non-profit management, Entrepreneurship, Paraprofessional, Childcare, Real Estate, and Career Readiness.

Essential Duties:

Develop detailed lesson plans to engage students.
Provide course descriptions and learning objectives to the Program Manager.
Offer differentiated instruction to meet various student needs.
Utilize effective technology and instructional methods.
Foster critical thinking and discussion among students.
Promote cooperation and mutual respect.
Incorporate diverse perspectives into instructional processes.
Complete required orientation and personnel forms.
Submit master copies of instructional materials.
Provide timely notice for absences and submit class evaluations.

Organizational Relationships:

The Adjunct Instructor reports directly to the Business, Certification and License Program Manager.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Previous teaching experience.
Experience teaching adult learners.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work with diverse cultures and use technology effectively.
