    Durham County Government Employment Opportunity

    • Job Type: Full-Time

    Role Overview

    This role involves handling legal matters for Durham County Department of Social Services (DSS) including trial and appellate litigation, drafting legal documents, and providing advice to DSS. Additionally, attending DSS County Board meetings may be required.

    Required Skills

    Applicants must have in-depth knowledge of local government and social services laws, as well as the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and the general public.

    Education and Experience

    The ideal candidate should have graduated from an accredited law school and possess at least seven years of legal experience. Prior experience in public law and some supervisory experience are advantageous.

    Special Requirement

    Candidates must be eligible to practice law in the State of North Carolina.

    Preferred Experience

    Previous experience in public law and supervisory roles are preferred for this position.
