    About the Role

    Instacart's mission is to create a world where everyone has access to the food they love and more time to enjoy it together. To achieve this mission, we partner very closely with 600+ retailer partners and a broad range of commercial partners to help us achieve our core objectives. We are working on a number of innovative partnership efforts to continue raising the bar on customer experience, quality, and efficiency.


    About the Team

    Our Market Strategy & Planning team is responsible for powering the vision of Instacart's commercial organization. We shape our strategy for building partnerships across retail, growth, and product ecosystems. Our team:

    • Works closely with our Partnerships teams to identify and prioritize new business opportunities,
    • Coordinates with cross-functional partners in Product, Engineering, Data Science, Finance, Marketing, Legal, and other functions to define plans that work for our entire business, and
    • Builds the materials to enable our partner-facing teams to execute on our goals quickly and effectively.

    About the Job

    • Drive our perspective on growth and product partnerships in close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders across a number of functions including Retail and Brand Partnerships, Product, Data Science, Finance, Marketing, and Legal
    • Help define which business areas to prioritize for new partnerships by deepening our understanding of the commercial landscape, and lead internal XFN discussions to better understand partnership gaps, needs, and priorities
    • Support partnership leads in defining engagement strategy for these initiatives, coordinating XFN input, and building analyses to support proposals and negotiations

    About You

    Minimum qualifications

      • 8-10+ years' experience working on cutting-edge challenges in the grocery, retail, or digital consumer space
      • Ability to use conceptual and analytical skills to tackle challenging problems in uncharted territory and distill complex ideas into clear and compelling stories
      • A self-starter who is able to proactively and independently drive progress across multiple stakeholder groups
      • Passion for understanding our partners' businesses and finding ways to deliver win-win value
      • Ability to bring a partner-focused perspective to bear to influence broader company decision making
      • Comfortable with quantitative and data-driven analysis
      • Strong drive to work on net-new strategic partnership initiatives and comfort operating in ambiguous contexts

    Preferred qualifications:

      • MBA or graduate degree
      • Experience with multi-sided marketplaces
      • Experience in grocery ecommerce
      • Experience with commercial partnerships in SaaS or digital consumer businesses
