    The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is currently seeking highly qualified applicants to be considered for their full-time Agriculture Outreach Representative position within the Office of Workforce Development (OWD) at Dublin Career Center.

    Under supervision, the Agriculture Outreach Representative will conduct outreach to Migrant and/or Seasonal Farm Workers that are not yet accessing services within our WorkSource Georgia office locations, provide career development and assessment services, job-training assistance, and/or other employment-related services. In addition, staff work with employers in the Agricultural industry by obtaining securing referrals to employment, securing job placements, and provide informational assistance with the H-2A program.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conducts interviews with job, program or unemployment applicants, communicating in both Spanish and English, to obtain required information and to articulate to program services and activities.
    • Develops, coordinates, and/or facilitates workshops and presentations to applicants on job readiness or the most current job search techniques, as well as demonstrates the use of job listings to assist clients with exploring available training and employment opportunities.
    • Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with local employers to generate opportunities for clients, while developing and sustaining organizational and community partnerships to encourage maximum utilization of available incentive programs.
    • Evaluates application information and determines initial or ongoing program eligibility, and may also refer applicants to services such as counseling, literacy or language instruction, transportation assistance, and childcare.
    • Performs job counseling with applicants to identify their abilities, needs, interests, and values in relation to job opportunities and career goals by utilizing a variety of assessments and evaluation tools.
    • Provides career development and assessment services to clients for the purpose of matching their application skill sets to vacancies, in order to job match or provide job referrals.
    • Orchestrates agricultural duties such as outreach activities to the MSFW population where they reside, work and congregate, in addition to conducting onsite field visits for the purposes outlined in the H-2A program such as observing workers and verifying Temporary Worker Housing facilities are appropriate. and assists in the office when not performing agricultural duties.
    • Assists with other related Employment Services within an American Job Center, while proactively engaging in additional training, as required, to gain full proficiency and experience in all areas for professional development.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Associate's degree from an accredited college or university -OR- High school diploma or GED and two years of related experience.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Knowledge of the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) and related Wagner-Peyser (WP) Act.
    • Bilingual/Spanish speaking.
    • Experience with delivery of Employment Services.
    • Experience delivering presentations in groups.
    • Knowledge of state and federal regulations.
