- Teaches basic RLA and Math to young adults who are functioning below 9th grade Reading and/or, 6th grade Math levels.
- Creates and develops curriculum, lesson plans, teaching materials, and Individual Learning Plans to aid students in developing skills and confidence in basic academic areas.
- Integrates computer-aided instruction into lessons as appropriate.
- Monitors and assesses students' progress on a regular basis.
- Provides Math and Reading foundation to prepare students for GED-level classes
- Participates in staff meetings.
- Participates in professional development as appropriate to the position.

ABE/Pre-GED instructor provides RLA and Math instruction to students 16 and older and not enrolled in school. Duties include planning lessons, monitoring and assessing student progress on an ongoing basis, creating and monitoring Individual Learning Plans with students, and collecting, recording and reporting all necessary information related to students in a timely manner.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and to talk to hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The environment is a clinical business office environment. Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens, respiratory diseases and other infectious diseases, and other biohazardous material requiring universal standard precautions. This position requires the individual to have their own transportation, a current unrestricted license to drive, documented auto insurance and the individual must be willing to work in client's homes.
