    Job Description

    Perform daily accounting activities for the corporate and above property entities of Ryman HospitalityProperties (RHP). Perform period-end closing procedures, including intercompany transactions andbalance sheet reconciliations. Perform accounting for non-core companies, such as joint ventures,discontinued operations, pre-opening and the RHP Foundation. Assist with accounts payable andtreasury procedures. Reports to Manager, Capital Accounting.
    • Prepare monthly closing journal entries for the corporate and above property general ledgers as assigned. Prepare intercompany journal entries and communicate to subsidiaries. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations as assigned.
    • Perform detailed review of general ledger for all corporate and above property departments. Utilize knowledge of company policies and GAAP to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger. Exercise judgment to record reclass, prepaid and accrual entries as necessary.
    • Ensure that all fixed asset transactions are accounted for in accordance with GAAP. Ensure fixed asset sub-ledger is accurate by verifying proper assignment of useful lives, asset classifications, and in-service dates. Record asset additions, adjustments, transfers, disposals and depreciation. Ensure sub-ledgers reconcile to the general ledger. Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting for fixed assets, software, capital lease roll-forwards, SEC reporting schedules, and other periodic reporting information.
    • Ensure that all project accounting transactions are within approved budget and company policy. Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting for CIP, roll-forwards, and other periodic reporting information.
    • Perform accounting for other non-core companies such as joint ventures, discontinued operations, pre-opening and the RHP Foundation.
    • Prepare, review and distribute monthly operating statements and general ledgers for all corporate and above property departments. Perform analysis and research for variance explanations.
    • Responsible for compliance with departmental Sarbanes Oxley controls, including maintaining monthly close documentation. Assist with internal and external audit requests.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Requirements

    Education
    • Degree in Accounting or equivalent additional experience required
    Experience
    • 2+ years experience in accounting
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems
    • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage work within deadlines
    • Ability to learn multiple systems
    • Strong MS Excel skills required
