    About This Role

    Axsome Therapeutics is hiring a Senior Manager, Market Research and Competitive Intelligence to provide vital expertise to the commercial organization.

    Responsibilities include leading competitive intelligence (CI) insight generation through primary market research (qualitative and quantitative), monitoring of competitor activities, analyzing market trends, and assessing clinical timelines.

    This position will work directly with the commercial leadership team (Marketing, Sales, Value & Access) in planning, budgeting, directing, and executing all initiatives in support of commercialization strategies for key products.

    This critical role will report directly to the Associate Director of Market Research.

    This role is based at Axsomes HQ in New York City with an on-site requirement of at least three days per week.


    Job Responsibilities and Duties

    include, but are not limited to, the following:

    Develop and execute CI strategies to identify market opportunities and risks

    Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise in CI and strategic analytics

    Build and maintain a CI repository of in-depth analyses of key competitors including commercial strategies, current and prospective timelines, market positioning, clinical assessment, and lifecycle management

    Translate and synthesize disparate data, research, and analyses into actionable, compelling insights that deepen competitive and market understanding across the organization

    Facilitate dissemination of timely CI insights throughout the organization, ensuring insights are aligned to business objectives and provide clear recommendations

    Ensure continuous alignment and strategic partnership with Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Corporate Communications, and Executive Leadership

    Support market research initiatives focusing on understanding the competitive landscape, market trends, and customer needs.

    Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with best-in-class competitive intelligence vendors

    Ensure that all projects comply Axsomes SOPs and CI policy. Ensure all projects adhere to industry standards (e.g., SCIP) and operate to the highest professional standard and meet expectations on quality, timeliness, and budget

    Travel required (about 4 to 6 weeks in the year for attending medical conferences)

    Requirements/ Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree required

    .

    Advanced degree, including MBA, or Masters in related field preferred

    5+ years pharmaceutical or biotech experience

    3-5 years pharmaceutical or biotech CI or market research experience

    Two or more years of CNS specific market research or competitive intelligence experience

    Ability to work on site Monday, Tuesday & Thursday.

    Experience and Knowledge

    Expertise with competitive intelligence methodologies

    Knowledge of secondary data sources used in pharmaceutical industry

    Demonstrated exceptional strategic / critical thinking abilities and business acumen

    Demonstrated analytical skills - understands the advantages and limits of different analytical/quantitative approaches

    Familiarity with launch and pre-launch timelines, strategies, and planning

    Familiarity with direct to HCP, Consumer, and Payer strategies and tactics

    Familiarity with clinical trial protocols and timelines

    Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences including Executive Leadership

    Ability to work collaboratively in team-based environment

    Ability to balance multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously

    Additional skills/qualifications for the role, including any that are preferred but not required

    Salary & Benefits

    The anticipated salary range for this role is $135,000 - $155,000. We encourage candidates of all levels to apply as there may be flexibility on final job title and responsibilities. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location.
