    Description

    The primary focus of this position is to develop, launch and support custom programs to interact with our existing databases, controllers, and automation throughout the plant. Take lead in building business cases, upgrading and infrastructure improvements needed for the reliability and supportability of current systems. Coordination with internal and external partners is required, including Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Product Management, suppliers.

    What You Need to Know:

    • Advanced working knowledge of PLC programming
    • Communication skills so they can discuss instructions with all parties included in the project and to answer all questions a customer may have on how the software works
    • Detail-oriented skills to ensure all parts of an application come together and work as intended
    • Interpersonal skills to be able to work with all others that may be included on the project to ensure it works properly
    • Problem-solving skills are important to ensure any issues that arise during the design and testing processes are fixed
    • Troubleshoot automation-based process errors and inefficiencies.
    • Regular exposure to the manufacturing plant environment. Potential exposure may include, but is not limited to solvents, dusts, noise, heat, cold, outside weather conditions, cramped spaces, and building construction areas. Potential physical demands include but are not limited to frequent walking and standing, occasional climbing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, lifting, carrying, handling, pushing, and pulling.
    • Always maintain and promote a safe working environment
    • Strong design background, project leadership, and organization is required, as this position will operate with minimal supervision.
    What We Are Looking For:
    • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology, preferably in the area of Computer Science or Software Engineer.
    • 5+ years of relevant work experience required. Project management skills & experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment preferred.
    • Demonstrated project management experience
    • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills are required
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are required
    • Organizational skills, time management, detail oriented, deadline oriented and the ability to multi-task are essential for success in this position.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet critical deadlines
    • Personal computer skills include, but are not limited to MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), AutoCAD, 3D CAD software
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
    • Knowledge of Rockwell PAC software, Cognex Vision Systems, Ignition, Groove, barcode scanners and Zebra label printers is a plus.
