    Job Summary

    As a member of the IT team, the System Analyst 2 reports directly to the IT Manager and will perform various functions supporting the IT department. The position's duties range from minor desktop support and hardware repair to junior systems administration. In addition to minor helpdesk responsibilities, the role focuses on server/system deployment and maintenance.

    Roles and Responsibilities


    • Flexibility in working with Linux, Apple and Microsoft technologies


    • Ability to learn new software and hardware technologies


    • Superior documentation skills


    • Ability to work as a team and independently for projects and issue resolution


    • Must support the IT team in the maintenance of hardware, software and other systems


    • Must be able to troubleshoot issues with computers, servers, and networking


    • Able to run regularly scheduled software updates, backups, and maintenance


    • Evaluating current IT systems, including hardware, software, and network features


    • Collaborating with the IT team to implement new systems and projects


    • Using project tracking software to track progress and any setbacks


    • Keeping up to date with the latest developments in information systems


    • Gaining increased expertise in enterprise software, open source technologies and ecosystems

    Requirements:

    Education / Training Requirements


    • Bachelor's degree in information science, computer science, or related field of study, and 2 to 3 years of server administration experience. Will consider additional experience in lieu of degree


    • Experience in Mac/PC desktop support and maintenance


    • Must be well versed in network technologies and protocols


    • Must be open to learning new technologies and software


    • Must possess strong communication skills, both written and oral


    • Intermediate knowledge/experience in Linux/FreeBSD server administration


    • Some experience in production windows servers and active directory


    • Experience in software configuration and troubleshooting


    • Experience working in hybrid OS environments preferred
