    The Center for Advanced Heart Failure & Pulmonary Vascular Disease – Advanced Practice Provider

    The Heart & Vascular Institute's Center for Advanced Heart Failure & Pulmonary Vascular Disease has developed extraordinary resources to help patients with advanced heart failure, whether it's with life-support ECMO technology during cardiac or respiratory failure, heart pumps that restore normal blood flow or a heart transplant. 

    Advanced Practitioner Role Scope    

    <-- [if supportLists]-->· <--[endif]-->The Advanced Practitioner will work at Hartford Hospital with The Center for Advanced Heart Failure team.  Working closely with our Heart Failure Cardiologists, the Advanced Practitioner will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care in our heart failure management program.

    <-- [if supportLists]-->· <--[endif]-->This role is ideal for an individual who is comfortable working within a fast-paced clinical setting as part of a multidisciplinary group of providers including advanced practice providers, physicians, dieticians, nurses, and medical and administrative assistants.

    <-- [if supportLists]-->· <--[endif]-->The outpatient heart failure management program incorporates a Bridge Infusion Program, HF Clinic, PA Sensor program, and VAD Program to actively manage heart failure related volume overload and reduce hospital admissions.

    <-- [if supportLists]-->· <--[endif]-->The provider should exhibit a passion for cardiology and be open to a rapidly growing practice where adaptability is paramount.

    Schedule:

    <-- [if supportLists]-->· <--[endif]-->Four 10-hour shifts per week

    <-- [if supportLists]-->· <--[endif]-->Some weekend coverage required (rotating basis)

    <-- [if supportLists]-->· <--[endif]-->No overnight responsibilities

    Advanced Practitioner Qualifications  

    <-- [if supportLists]-->· <--[endif]-->Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master's program

    <-- [if supportLists]-->· <--[endif]-->Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut

    <-- [if supportLists]-->· <--[endif]-->Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

    <-- [if supportLists]-->· <--[endif]-->Minimum 1–2 years of experience in cardiology, critical care, or advanced HF preferred (new grads with strong clinical backgrounds may be considered).

    <-- [if supportLists]-->· <--[endif]-->LVAD experience preferred but not required.
