    Overview:

    Job Purpose:

    Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) provides a fantastic chance to work on state-of-the-art technology and business challenges in the financial industry. The Senior Engineer role in the ICE Network Engineering team involves leadership in network design, validation, deployment, maintenance, and round-the-clock operational support.

    The ideal candidate will contribute to enhancing one of the biggest global financial networks by working on various critical services and driving large-scale data center updates both on-premise and in the cloud. The successful candidate should excel at multitasking within a dynamic team environment, showcasing strong problem-solving skills, decision-making abilities, and the utmost professionalism.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, deploy, support, and maintain mixed vendor network infrastructure
    • Develop, document, and publish architectural standards and designs
    • Assist ICE personnel with problem-solving and escalation procedures
    • Understand and adhere to operational policies/procedures
    • Provide technical expertise to ensure safe, effective, and efficient changes in the network infrastructure
    • Assist in developing policies and procedures for network infrastructure maintenance
    • Collaborate closely with all IT teams
    • Lead incident investigations, diagnosis, and service restoration with a focus on prompt incident resolution
    • Act as a subject matter expert offering guidance to other Engineers in troubleshooting, design, onboarding, risk mitigation, and operational enhancement

    Knowledge and Experience:

    • Thorough knowledge of general network principles and technology application in a service-oriented critical environment
    • Ability to spearhead technical projects from design to implementation and rollout
    • Extensive experience in network routing protocols and troubleshooting, particularly in BGP and OSPF
    • Proficiency in Juniper products and JUNOS, and/or Arista products and EOS
    • Solid understanding of modern configuration management tools such as Ansible, Jinja, JSON
    • Strong background in Python development
    • Experience with Restful APIs
    • Proficient in GIT for software collaboration and version control
    • Over 6 years of hands-on support and network troubleshooting experience
    • At least 4 years of experience in designing and implementing complex network projects
    • Ability to run and analyze sniffer traces with a deep understanding of TCP/IP protocols
    • Basic Unix/Linux system administration skills
    • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
    • Outstanding customer service orientation
    • Ability to perform effectively and professionally under pressure

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience in Azure or AWS cloud deployments
    • Previous work on financial and HFT networks, with a good grasp of exchange protocols (such as FIX)
    • Expertise in network certifications like CCIE, JNCIE, etc.
    • Advanced certification in F5, Checkpoint, or Palo Alto
    • In-depth hardware knowledge of switches and routers, including internal chipset specifications, TCAM, memory details, buffering capabilities, and multicast replication details
    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering or related field
