    JOB PURPOSE

    The Project Engineer (PE) is an integral part of the project team working closely with Estimating, Project Management, and Operations.

    As such the roles and duties of the PE are very diverse and include the following:

    Establishing production rates for field crews, coding project time, documenting completed quantities, maintaining SWPPP documentation, preparing two-week look-ahead agendas, maintaining force account records, maintaining as-builts, assisting with submittals and transmittals, etc.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Assist Project Manager and Project Superintendent with all aspects of project start-up, project management, and project close-out; including, but not limited to:
    Project schedule; Scope review; CPM schedule updates; Labor cost comments; Daily Reporting; RFI's, T&M's, Change Orders and Cost to Complete; Development of submittal schedule; Collect delivery and material tickets; SWPPP; As-Builts
    Obtaining data for documentation includes working in proximity of and maneuvering through live traffic, large machinery or equipment
    Understand PO creation and review
    Participate in planning and progress meetings
    Understand foreman, labor and production cost reports
    Enforce Safety, Quality and Efficiency

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:
    BS in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

    Professional Certification:
    EIT Preferred; OSHA 30; CESSWI Certification

    Minimum Experience:
    Candidates with 2+ years of experience in construction or related industry (including internship and co-op experience)
    Valid Driver's License Required

    COMPETENCIES
    Ability to perform audits, write, and submit reports
    Proficient written & verbal skills, attention to detail
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications
    Proactive, self-motivating, problem solver
    Ability to demonstrate leadership traits, including the ability to make decisions with integrity
    Comprehension of cost to complete process, financial reporting and project goals

    Occasionally bend, twist, squat, and kneel
    Ability to adapt in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment on a daily basis
    Ability to multitask and manage multiple aspects of the construction project
