    Job Summary

    1. Ensures all shipping and receiving operations are carried out in a safe, timely and effective manner at the assigned pack out line.

    2. Leads, directs and mentor assigned Operation employees to ensure that all jobs are completed safely and correctly and that all products are handled with the highest respect.

    3. Monitors employee and process effectiveness to ensure maximum production efficiency is obtained while maintaining a safe work environment.

    4. Ensures the integrity and accuracy of the packaging operations at the assigned pack out line, and that all paperwork and VMU input is accurate.

    5. Ensures the efficiency and accuracy of the shipping and receiving lines in-process, purge, and floor sweep inventories and that all customer products are labeled properly.

    6. Initiates correct paperwork required by customer work orders.

    7. Understands and follows the daily scheduling process for packaging operations.

    8. Identifies the correct packaging supplies required by customer and specific work orders.

    9. Correctly and safely connects rail cars and transfer lines on multiple types of equipment.

    10. Correctly and safely completes sampling process and purging process, including set-up for purge boxes (labeling the type of box used). 11. Safely and efficiently conducts a complete blow-down on several equipment types.

    12. Correctly and safely unhooks and secures hoses from railcars and properly seals railcars.

    13. Performs quality checks during packaging.

    14. Constantly and innovatively striving for continual improvement and cost reduction in all areas while working daily with the team.

    15. Monitors the mechanical integrity of Pack-out forklifts and all other equipment used by the Pack-Out line.

    16. Works effectively with the Maintenance Department to ensure that downtime is minimized due to mechanical failure on assigned Pack-Out line.

    17. Ensure the accuracy and timely remittance of all required paperwork. (Production reports, work orders, and daily production reports, etc...)

    18. Ensures all Safety and Quality corrective and/or preventative actions are followed by employees.

    19. Supports United DC's Quality System and ensures compliance in all packaging responsibilities and operations.

    20. Ensures that employees follow all UDC workplace policies.

    21. Ensures that all employees have the required PPE for their jobs and use it properly.

    22. Ensures that all employees work safely and follow all safety procedures.

    23. Immediately reports any incidents or injuries to management immediately.

    24. Ensures that all quality issues are identified, corrected, and reported to management immediately.

    25. Documents all non conformances with a NCR and all corrective/preventative actions are communicated to and understood by employees.

    26. Audits employees for procedure compliance and to ensure all packaging functions are performed correctly.

    27. Required to work additional hours and weekends when necessary.28 . Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Requirements

    Responsibilities

    • The Operations Lead is responsible for leading, directing and mentoring a shipping crew(s) in the efficient and safe production/package and storage of customer product.
    • The Operations Lead ensures the highest integrity of the customer&s product, preventing any contamination by ensuring adherence to established standardized processes and customer requirements.
    • The Operations Lead understands current customer needs and requirements, and drives his/her crew to exceed customer expectations, while meeting or exceeding established productivity goals.
    • The Operation Lead is expected to work with management to understand all customer packaging and storage requirements to ensure the proper warehousing of product.
    • He/She communicates with supervisory staff regarding occurring or potential issues with packouts, contamination issues, or damaged railcars.
    • The Operations Lead ensures the accurate reporting of production packout and productivity reporting, as well as monitoring and verifying the accurate input of information into WMS, thereby ensuring optimum inventory accuracy.
    • The Operations Lead reports directly to the Operations Manager or Facility Manager communicating any and all customer and/or company related deficiencies in a timely and effective manner.
    • The Operation Lead acts in a leadership capacity working closely with management to maintain customer requirements and satisfaction while ensuring that the company&s goals and standards are met.
    • He/She mentors and assists in developing co-workers to assure all company and customer requirements are met.
    • He/She must use appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to develop effective partnerships to meet mutual goals and objectives, demonstrating a strong ability to analyze data, evaluate situations and identify problems or opportunities, including likely causes.

    Education and/or Experience
    • High School diploma or GED, and a minimum of 2 3 years experience as a lead in a production environment (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
    • Must possess a valid Texas drivers license and reliable transportation to move from facility to facility when necessary.
    • Must be willing and able to work any and all shifts as required.
    • Must be willing and able to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
