Job summary
We are seeking a standardized patient to portray or simulate a patient as part of a case. The primary responsibilities include learning all aspects of the case portrayal including the patient's appearance, demeanor, chief complaint, symptoms, past medical history and family history.- Portray all aspects of the case as trained including history of current problem with appropriate affect/behavior and physical findings.
- Demonstrate improvisational skills when appropriate in case portrayals.
- Teach knowledge skills behaviors accurately consistently in learner centered approach complete checklists accurately consistently monitor other standardized patients quality assurance communicate Educator staff about portrayal inconsistencies inform faculty changes contact information such name telephone home address email address receive ongoing feedback modify behaviors accordingly provide appropriate feedback learners colleagues needed project sign trainings portrayals encounter issues hinder ability request shifts during teaching assessment activities standardized patients expect learner might do one more following conduct interview provide patient counseling perform physical examinations
