The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing care management within the scope of licensure for members of a SPMI population who have complex and chronic care needs.

The NP works on a multidisciplinary ACT team, providing nurse practitioner services to an assigned caseload, including assessment and prescription of medications within the scope of licensure.

*Responsibilities of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner*· Conduct psychiatric evaluation assessments, diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders

• Coordinate somatic care with external providers
• Prescribe and administer medications and ongoing treatment for psychiatric patients
• Order and interpret lab and other diagnostic studies as needed to provide high level of care
• Collaborate with family, physicians, and other treatment team members
• Develop, implement and document psychiatric care plans and document all services in electronic health records
• Maintains client's electronic medical records and other necessary records including documentation of consultations and contact with internal and external providers
• Other duties as assigned

*Requirements of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner*· Two to three years' experience providing mental health services preferred.

• Active Nurse Practitioner licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nurses. Completion of state approved Nurse Practitioner certification program preferred.
• Experience in medication management in Outpatient Mental healthcare setting, and substance abuse treatment preferred.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and access to personal vehicle and be willing to use it for work purposes.
