    Full Time - Front Line Staff/Entry Level

    Under the direction of the Chief of Staff, the primary role of the Administrative Analyst 4 will be to lead the New Jersey Department of Health's participation in the Strengthening U.S.

    Public Health Infrastructure, Workforce and Data Systems Grant (PHIG), a 5-year program funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

    In this supervisory role, the AA4 will serve as the lead project manager overseeing the department-wide implementation of all PHIG activities across all three strategies: (1) A- Workforce Development to recruit, retain, support, and train the public health workforce (2) A- Foundational Capabilities to strengthen systems, processes and policies, (3) A3- Data Modernization to deploy scalable, flexible, and sustainable technologies.

    Attends all grant-related meetings, webinars, and trainings.


    Monitors activity goals and milestones to ensure timely submission of work plans, budgets and reporting on implementation of activities to NJDOH leadership and the CDC.

    Creates evaluation tools and works with Deputy COS to review objectives and milestones and provides fiscal with grant disposition status.

    Works with the Deputy COS to perform supervisory as well as advanced, analytical work in the administration of other assigned programs and projects.

    Recommends clear and effective strategies for addressing issues and problems related to programs and functions within the purview of the Deputy COS


    Supervision of professional staff supporting the assigned programs and initiatives via the provision of technical assistance to DOH units implementing grant milestones.

    Participates in project coordination meetings and other related working groups and represents Deputy COS when necessary.


    This position may be eligible to participate in the Department's pilot telework program, which offers eligible employees the opportunity to work remotely for up to two (2) days per week, as approved by management.

    NOTE:
    Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.


    Eight (8) years of professional experience involving the review, analysis, and evaluation of budget, organization, administrative practices, operational methods, management operations, or data processing applications, or any combination thereof, which shall have included responsibility for the recommendation, planning, and/or implementation of improvements in a business or government agency.

    Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and four (4) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.


    OR


    Possession of a master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Accounting; and three (3) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.

    "Professional experience" refers to work that is creative, analytical, evaluative, and interpretive; requires a range and depth of specialized knowledge of the profession's principles, concepts, theories, and practices; and is performed with the authority to act according to one's own judgment and make accurate and informed decisions.


    LICENSE:


    Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
