- Calculating liquid pipeline control pressures based on various factors such as elevation, pipe ratings, equipment ratings, and Transient Surge study results.
- Assisting Commercial Management in making informed decisions.
- Determining pipeline capacity, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Running "what if" operations scenarios, including equipment outages.
- Analyzing abnormal operating conditions, ensuring compliance with DOT-PHMSA regulations.
- Collaborating with various departments to analyze new projects, expansions, and changes in service.
- Working closely with Operations and Pipeline Control to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering.
- Working knowledge of fluid properties and hydraulic theory.
- 5+ years of experience in the energy business, specifically working with pipeline simulation.
- Midstream oil and gas experience preferred.
- Knowledge of at least one pipeline simulation software is required. Additional working knowledge of multiple simulation software packages is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to see tasks through to completion.
- Proficiency with various software tools including Emerson - Energy Solutions PipelineStudio and PipelineOptimizer, DNV - Synergi Gas, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Earth.
- Familiarity with additional simulation software such as Schlumberger - PIPESIM simulator and Kongsberg Gruppen - LedaFlow Software.
- Experience with programming languages such as Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and Python.
- Knowledge of big data tools such as TIBCO Spotfire.
- Familiarity with NIST Refrprop and Microsoft SharePoint.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 10%.
