    Research Project Coordinator
    RAND Research Administrative Operations has an exciting opportunity for a Research Project Coordinator to support the project teams.


    The Research Project Coordinator role assists in the administration, operations and management of department, division, program, center, or project-oriented work under general supervision.

    The role manages one or more moderate to large projects, each with moderate complexity or a portfolio of projects for a department, division, or program.

    As part of project, program, center or division teams, the role ensures that tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.


    Responsibilities may include:


    Manage at least one or more moderate to large projects, each with moderate complexity or manage a portfolio of projects for a department, division, or program.

    Tracks and maintains project budgets and costs.

    Helps develop and track project plans including task assignments, monitors work efforts and reports on progress.

    May assist in the writing, editing and submission of funding proposals.

    Communicates closely with project leaders, department, center and program directors and related staff.

    Drafts grant or contract progress reports according to sponsor requirements.

    Tracks deliverables throughout the Quality Assurance/Publications process

    Organizes events/conferences/seminars related to the project/center/program/department.

    Facilitates publications, web materials and manages communications within the program as needed.

    Initiates and tracks subcontracts, independent service agreements, supplier service agreements, and purchase orders.

    Takes and organizes meeting minutes.

    Assists with editing and formatting reports and presentations.

    Assists and leads efforts with recruiting research participants.

    Programs surveys with on-line tools.


    Communicates with Contracts, Grants, & Procurement Services to understand contractual requirements (e.g., notifications of staffing changes, progress reports, % minimum time dedication from key personnel, etc.).

    Assists in ensuring projects adhere to contract language and if applicable, track project amendment documentation.

    Manages Human Subjects Protection Committee documentation.

    Completes other administrative duties including managing calendars and travel activities as assigned to a limited extent.

    Other Qualifications
    Technical proficiency in MS Teams, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.

    Working knowledge of project management software (preferred).

    Knowledge of RAND operational procedures and tools.

    Proficiency with enterprise software such as Salesforce & Workday (preferred).

    Education

    Minimum:
    High school diploma


    Preferred:
    Bachelor's degree.
    Experience
    3 years minimum experience; 5 years preferred.
    Location
    Santa Monica, CA or Pittsburgh, PA or Washington, DC. Hybrid/flex work arrangement.
    Salary Range
    Research Project Coordinator I $55,900 - $83,200
    Research Project Coordinator II $62,700 - $93,500

    This position is overtime eligible. Successful candidates will be offered employment in a specific title, as determined by the candidate's education and experience.
