Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking an experienced Environmental Studies Project Manager to join their team in Kansas City, MO The candidate should have demonstrated experience developing and supporting multiple projects from a natural resources and environmental permitting perspective as well as managing and completing independent projects.
These activities may include proposal development, marketing, developing permitting strategies and schedules, providing technical experience for routing and siting projects, participating in public meetings, negotiating with regulatory agencies, managing construction, contracts, schedules and budgets.
The Project Manager will work within the Environmental Services Team to perform the following duties:Performing project management responsibilities for environmental studies and permitting projects.
Act as a technical resource for routing and siting practices and procedures for the routing and siting technical service area
Client and business development and networking
Assisting with and leading proposal and cost estimating efforts for environmental studies and permitting projects.
Regularly interface with various agencies, clients, and team members
Mentoring and generally working closely with junior level environmental staff
Assist with recruiting, development, and training of staff.
Experience with project management, environmental regulation and agency coordination (USFWS, state agencies, etc)
Must haves:
Bachelor's degree in a natural resources OR environmental permitting discipline
10-12yrs experience in natural resources and/or environmental permitting project execution including:
leading teams in the field or office
coordinating staff, and/or project management
experience with routing or siting studies, environmental permitting
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents
CPCN documentation, or Energy Facility Siting and Licensing and associated testimony support.
Working understanding of GIS.
Demonstrated knowledge of routing and siting requirements, environmental site assessment methods, permitting process, compliance and compliance audits.
Ability to travel up to 25%, as required
