    Shift Available:
    Full Time (36 hours/week) 6:45p-6:45a
    Medicine Stepdown/Intermediate 7W unit consists of 27 beds, 11 Step Down and 16 Med Surg beds.

    Medicine Stepdown/Intermediate unit is looking for motivated, compassionate, and disciplined nurses craving a stimulating, learning experience, and a strong team environment This unit cares for a variety of both lower acuity and complex critically ill patients with multifaceted disease processes requiring higher level of care and closer monitoring.

    The Medicine Stepdown/Intermediate unit offers a challenging environment where you can develop and enhance your complex nursing skills while making a significant impact on your community

    The Collaborative Care Model is an innovative new strategy dedicated to making sure that the Post Trauma unit has the right resources at the right place for our patients in a way that can be easily modified it to the patient's unique needs.

    In this model, a collaborative team made up of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Care Team Associate will be assigned to a certain number of patients.

    In addition to those primary roles, there will also be additional support staff of a direct care pharmacist, a phlebotomist, and an EVS (Environmental Services) attendant.

    This model puts all the right people in all the right places to give the best care we can to our patients.

    Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.

    Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.

    Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary.

    Delivers patient care competently.
    Interacts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge.
    Informs patient and family of hospital procedures.
    Makes referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
    Delegates tasks to support staff.
    Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred.
    License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s)

    Required:

    Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).

    Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Some computer skills.
