    Description

    Open Rank Faculty - Manufacturing, Systems and Automation in Precision Agriculture

    The College of Engineering at the University of Georgia invites applications for one position with expertise supporting manufacturing, systems, and automation in precision agriculture.

    About the Position

    This position seeks to identify highly qualified candidates with expertise at the intersection of data science, agriculture, and advanced manufacturing and engineering, with applications to integrative precision agriculture.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop a vigorous, high-impact, externally funded research program;
    • Work closely with other members of the cluster hire and existing faculty;
    • Effectively mentor graduate students and postdoctoral scientists;
    • Effectively support our teaching mission at the undergraduate and graduate levels;
    • Contribute to an inclusive learning environment within the university;

    Requirements

    • A Ph.D. in engineering, computer science or related discipline;
    • A documented research background appropriate for the appointment rank, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, in the application of technologies, data analytics, or models to problems in agriculture or biology;
    Rank and Tenure Status
    • Assistant or Associate Professor level;
    • Tenured or tenure-track faculty position;
    • Candidates must be approved for tenure upon appointment before hire.
    Estimated Salary

    $120,000 - $180,000 per year.
