This recruitment is for two (2) Pediatric Neurocritical Care positions with an expected duration of 1 year. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Department of Neurology, is searching for Board Eligible/Board Certified neurologists with clinical and/or research interests in Child Neurocritical Care Neurology. Neurocritical Care fellowship training is beneficial but not mandatory. This role will provide a primary academic appointment at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
UNC-Chapel Hill boasts a substantial primary pediatric residency program with over twenty fellowship offerings, including a Child Neurology Residency and a Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship.
The UNC Pediatric Neurocritical Care Unit within the Division of Child Neurology is expanding, offering leadership opportunities to establish and oversee a pediatric neurocritical care physician and nurse practitioner training/fellowship program. The position will involve child neurology hospitalist duties and neurocritical care follow-up outpatient responsibilities. We support faculty career development with a focus on academic and research assistance.
Our comprehensive epilepsy division features a variety of multidisciplinary treatment options, including epilepsy surgery, VNS (vagus nerve stimulation), and the ketogenic diet.
Our institution hosts several globally renowned programs such as the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities, TEACCH Autism Program, North Carolina Neuroscience Center, UNC Center for AIDS Research, and UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, among others.
We also offer a robust neurofibromatosis program, pediatric sleep medicine program, an expanding SMA (spinal muscular atrophy) program, and a highly successful pediatric epilepsy program. Our range of sub-specialty clinics and research collaborations with our Pediatric Medicine and Child Psychiatry Centers encompass neonatal neurology, pediatric stroke, and neurocritical care, backed by strong institutional support. Neurocritical Care fellowship training is highly preferred.
