    Job Title: Director of Nursing - Bronx

    The Director of Nursing plays a pivotal role in overseeing the delivery of healthcare and nursing services at our facility, ensuring exceptional care for our residents around the clock. This position involves strategic management of nursing personnel, development and implementation of policies and procedures, and adherence to regulatory guidelines to uphold the highest standards of resident care.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develops and Implements Policies: Develops and implements nursing service objectives, policies, and procedures to maintain quality nursing care.
    • Staffing Management: Determines staffing levels and monitors for adequacy in provision of nursing care.
    • Scheduling and Protocols: Monitors nursing schedules and implements protocols for identified shift openings.
    • Nurse On-Call Rotation: Maintains Nurse On-Call rotation to ensure coverage for clinical needs and staffing deficiencies.
    • Administrative Functions: Oversees all administrative functions in the Nursing Department.
    • Staff Development: Recommends and collaborates in in-service education programs to promote staff development.
    • Quality Monitoring: Monitors the quality and type of care provided for all residents.
    • Compliance: Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
    • Staff Meetings and Education: Coordinates and facilitates regular staff meetings and continuous education programs.
    • Budget Management: Develops and monitors budgets and resource allocation within the nursing department.
    • Collaboration: Collaborates with other healthcare professionals and administrative staff to promote and ensure high-quality patient care.
    • Staff Recruitment and Performance Evaluations: Manages the recruitment, hiring, orientation, and performance evaluations of nursing staff.
    • Infection Control and Safety: Oversees infection control procedures and ensures compliance with safety protocols.
    • Quality Improvement Initiatives: Develops and implements quality improvement initiatives and best practices in nursing care.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
    • License: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
    • Experience: Minimum of five years of responsible nursing experience, with at least three years in a management or supervisory role in a skilled nursing facility.
    • Skills: Strong knowledge of nursing best practices, regulatory requirements, and healthcare standards.
    • Leadership and Communication Skills: Excellent leadership and management skills with a proven track record of staff development and retention, as well as excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Integrity and Confidentiality: High level of integrity, professionalism, and respect for the principles of resident rights, confidentiality (HIPAA), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
    • Technology and Financial Skills: Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant healthcare technology, as well as ability to develop and manage budgets.

    Compensation:

    • Salary: $150,000 - $170,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
