    This position transports patients to and from the O.R., handles routine tasks related to patient care, organizes equipment, and provides general cleaning of surgical suites.

    $ $48/hour (depending on experience)

    Shift Details:
    Full-time, 40 hours/week. Monday - Friday.

    Scope


    • Assists in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients. Assembles, organizes and completes case carts according to doctors preference lists.
    • Provides appropriate instrumentation, suture and all supplies as requested and provides and maintains a sterile environment. May assist surgeon by passing instruments to surgeon during cases.
    • Counts sponges, needles, blades and instruments using proper technique and established policy.
    • Assists in maintenance and care of specimens and prepares for laboratory analysis. Handles specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials and sharps in accordance with established policy and recommended standards of practice
    • Assists with timely turnover of rooms, including clean up, replacement and restocking of supplies and equipment. Cares for instruments and equipment.
    • Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need.
    • May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
    Minimum Qualifications

    Required

    High school diploma or GED is required

    Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval

    Preferred

    1 year of OR scrubbing experience is preferred

    1year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital is preferred

    Physical Requirements:
    Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing
    Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
    See and read computer monitors and documents.
    Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
    May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.
