    Health & Safety Facility Manager

    to support our client in

    Salisbury, MD . In this role, you will work onsite with a client to support management systems and safety compliance. This is a full-time (40+hrs/week), limited-term role for a duration of

    3 months , renewable.
    Responsibilities

    :

    Leads all safety & security efforts for manufacturing facility with 600 associates.


    Directly leads & manages daily activities and personnel matters of facility hourly/salaried safety personnel and security contract personnel to ensure resources are effectively and consistently employed in the organization.


    Leads facility security team/guard force in managing security processes to include developing/ administering site security practices and policies, supporting and tracking required key performance indicators including training objectives, and timely completion of site surveys and or audits.

    Provides technical expertise for cross functional teams to ensure safe operational processes and capital/engineering projects.

    Collaborates with functional experts in vehicle safety, corporate security, environmental, PSM, and other areas to align facility activities and objectives.

    Provides interpretations for OSHA, NFPA, DHS, DOT, and other pertinent regulations to ensure processes and policies comply with applicable laws and regulations.


    Interacts regularly with the hourly work force to promote safety awareness and works to resolve their safety issues and concerns.

    Leads site safety business plan development by analyzing relevant data and tracking/reporting facility and corporate KPIs/metrics. Validates plan's actions through internal safety and security auditing tracking findings through closure.

    Provides training support to the organization and ensures that all required safety training is effectively completed on time.

    Ensures effective investigations on all safety and security incidents are completed, participating actively during complex and high impact investigation. Ensure root cause is determined and appropriate corrective actions developed, tracking recommendations to closure. Utilizes incident data to develop action plans to address hazards and emerging trends.

    Member of the incident command team and required to respond and or direct emergency response activities.

    Liaisons for 3rd party assessments, audits, & inspections, i.e. insurance carrier, local fire department, risk engineering firms, OSHA, DHS, etc.


    Maintains working relationship with permanent and temporary contractors to validate their safe work practices and supports their activities to maintain a superior safety environment at the facility.

    Builds relationships with occupational health to improve worker safety, associate wellness, and case management for supported sites. Actively involved in worker's compensation, assisting the occupational health nurse/third party administrator in effectively managing all open claims.


    Keeps the management team informed of any safety, health, and security related issues and/or concerns identified within scope of responsibility.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in safety, business management, or related field. In the absence of a degree, directly related work experience may be considered.

    7+ years of progressively increasing safety & security responsibility with - 5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.

    Demonstrated ability to self-direct work with minimal guidance and oversight.


    Requires strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with hourly workforce, technical personnel, senior management, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

    Strong written and oral communication skills with proficient use of Microsoft office suite.

    Ability to analyze and synthesize data to support safety initiatives. Highly developed planning and organization skills. Detailed knowledge of health and safety regulations issued by OSHA, workers compensation and other governmental agencies.


    Multi-facility industrial safety experience; direct personnel management experience, professional safety, or security certifications; bi-lingual capabilities is a plus; expert knowledge of health and safety disciplines related to food processing.

    Position requires occasional moving to other offices or buildings.

    Day travel to nearby locations is sometimes required.

    Ability to support on multiple shifts required as needed.

    May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.

    May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.

    Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.

    When in a plant environment:

    Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

    May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.

    May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

    May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.

    May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.

    Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.

    Pay Transparency:

    For the

    Health & Safety Facility Manager

    position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $95,868 – $109,240, $46.09/hr - $52.52/hr, limited-term, non-exempt.

    An employee's pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

    We also may have instances where employee's fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above.
    This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/Flexforce employees are NOT bonus eligible).
    We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life & disability insurance to

    benefits eligible * employees.
    *Benefits Eligibility is limited to Regular employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week.
    Fixed-Term employees (including Flexforce) who are regularly scheduled to work 20 hours a week or more are eligible for a
