- Analyze disease processes with the use of ultrasound through the selection of appropriate procedures and techniques.
- Coordinate past and present medical history of patient in reference to ultrasound examination.
- Schedule and instruct the patient in reference to ultrasound.
- Review current imaging techniques and interpretations to assure current information.
- Furnish occasional immediate results to appropriate medical personnel derived from ultrasound procedure.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and quality assurance.
- Provide assistance and guidance to sonography students completing clinical experience in department.
- Assist Radiologists and other physicians in the performance of interventional procedures.
- Perform detailed OB ultrasounds on 8-14 patient per day in a timely manner.
- Present cases to reading physician.
- Document appropriately in the US reporting system as well as in the electronic medical record.
- Assist co-workers when needed.
- Restock supplies.
- Minimum of one year working in a PACS environment.
- Minimum of one year ultrasound experience
- Minimum of one year OBGYN experience Education
- Associates Degree in Sonography.
- Must be certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in abdomen and Ob/Gyn or by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Sonography (ARRT((S).
- Must be CPR certified. Minimum of AHA Heart Saver certification or BLS required.
- Vascular, OB, and general certifications are required. Specialized Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to perform requested procedures in a portable environment as needed.
- Ability to perform physical requirements (visual and auditory) of the job.
- Ability to problem solve and multi-task.
- Adept with customer service.
- Ability to effectively communicate with physicians.
- Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.
- Comfortable in fast pace environment.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently.
