Job summary
Provides treatment to patients by evaluating function and selecting appropriate treatments to improve or restore function participates in interdisciplinary approach for in servicing and community education and in clinical education of affiliating students potentially may be responsible for cross site coverage evaluates patients based on departmental standard conducts and modifies evaluations based on patient s symptoms level of activity medical status establishing individualized appropriate measurable goals for each patient treats patients with therapeutic exercises strength endurance coordination ROM administers physical agents modalities manual therapeutic technique relieve pain attain established goals educates patients families home exercise programs functional activities maximize independent functional activity determines when patient has achieved maximal benefit from treatment recommends discharge if appropriate documents insurance guidelines adheres department policies procedures seeks fosters interdepartmental communication referring physician regarding patient care as evidenced observation chart review accurately consistently fills out submits charges daily adheres professional code ethics APTA facility times as evidenced observation performs duties proper body mechanics safety prevent injuries supervises affiliated student year attends continuing education course furtherimprove treatment techniques participates departmental inservice communityinservice documentation educational program
