Job DescriptionWe are looking for dynamic, energetic interns for the Summer of 2024 who are eager to learn about WVIA by assisting our expanding News Team. This is a paid, part-time role.
You will be working closely with our News team to fulfill various administrative and operational duties, in support of our mission and operational goals. Our Intern program is an excellent opportunity for interested students to participate in experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom, with practical application and skills development in a professional newsroom setting.
Interns will have the opportunity to observe the workplace and gain industry knowledge, while also performing job-specific tasks such as researching stories, social media posting, and list building.
To be successful as an Intern, you should be willing to help with any tasks assigned by a supervisor. You will be involved in special projects and obtain keen insight into the day-to-day operations of a successful news team. You will always be mentored by our diverse group of reporters.Slots are extremely limited and fill up quickly, so applicants are encouraged to apply early.
The time commitment for our interns is between 8 to 10 hours per week for up to a 12-week time frame over the summer months. All work is supervised by a WVIA employee and interns are paid a minimum hourly rate. The deadline to apply for our summer internships is May 17, 2024 so get your application in today.
