    **POSITION TITLE:** Lead Housekeeper

    **DEPARTMENT:** Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (Kroc Center Hawaii)

    **SUPERVISOR:** Facilities Coordinator

    **FLSA STATUS**: Non Exempt

    **CLASSIFICATION:** Part Time, Full Time, Hourly

    **POSITION SUMMARY:**

    The Lead Housekeeper provides on-site leadership to the housekeeping team and will be responsible for ensuring that all cleaning, sanitation and general upkeep of all interior and exterior buildings, surfaces, and furnishings are being completed. Will assist in training and provide input with work schedules and special projects. The position will also Lead and assist in the set up and break down of furniture, equipment and staging needed for the various programs and event uses.

    The Lead Housekeeper will have a deep commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, which will be evident in his or her professional life and the manner in which he or she represents The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in the community.

    **REQUIREMENTS:**

    High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

    1 year of experience in current janitorial methods and procedures.

    Thorough knowledge of health and sanitation requirements of a public facility, preferably utilizing green/sustainable cleaning products and methods.

    Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be accepted.

    **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**

    This position may be required to work weekends and evenings.

    Oversees and assists on routine cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting of all interior and exterior building surfaces and furnishings.

    Oversees and assists regular cleaning and sanitation of areas including restrooms, shower rooms, locker rooms, fitness areas and kitchen.

    Provides coaching, instruction or retraining to Housekeeping staff

    Organize and assist furniture and equipment set-ups and take-downs in support of various programs and building uses.

    Plan and communicate regular removal of trash, litter and recyclables.

    Ensure high level cleaning of public areas such as lobbies and entry areas.

    Oversee and assist regular cleaning and sweeping of exterior areas including sidewalks, paved areas, and landscaping.

    Maintain appropriate inventories of cleaning products, supplies and products such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soaps throughout the facility.

    Maintain the appearance and functionality of the facilities and grounds components including doors, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings and furnishings.

    Maintain records of cleaning, service and repair of building systems.

    Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.

    Maintain the Code of Ethics policy, which has been established for the Kroc Center Hawaii.

    Attend staff meetings and other administrative meetings.

    Maintain regular and punctual work attendance.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    **MENTAL DEMANDS:**

    This position must prioritize and organize work assignments, take projects from beginning through completion, evaluate quality and quantity of daily work completed through observation and inspection. The work will be in a fast-paced environment and must maintain poise under pressure. The position must maintain a self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, motivational, self-directed schedule and be able to respond to crisis situations in a calm and effective manner. This position must possess the self-discipline necessary to perform repetitive tasks without lowering quality of work, exercise good judgment, be comfortable taking initiative with projects and have a genuine interest and commitment to providing quality services. This position must be able to work with limited supervision, and work in a team setting with other professionals.

    **PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**

    The position requires sitting; climbing and/or balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching and/or crawling; standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; use of vision; pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying 25 pounds and occasionally more than 25 pounds with assistance.

    **COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:**

    The position requires talking to co-workers, clients, vendors; requires written communication to and from co-workers, clients, vendor; talking on the telephone; requires responding to written or verbal requests of co-workers, clients, and vendors; requires training/giving verbal and written instructions; requires receiving verbal and written instructions; requires writing/composing written language; requires reading; requires visiting/working at other worksites; requires communication via the latest technologies.     **EQUIPMENT NEEDS**:

    Equipment used includes: electric powered vacuum cleaner, cleaning cart, step ladder, cleaning chemicals, shampoo/buffing/waxing machines.

    **DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT**:

    Most work will be indoors at the new Kroc Center Hawaii facility. Attendance at trainings and conferences in Hawaii may be required.
