    Job Title: Workshop Manager – Fabrication

    Salary: $100,000-$120,000

    Function – Steelwork and Heavy Fabrication

    The Client

    We have a fantastic opportunity at a local long standing, reputable steelwork Company. They are currently looking for a Workshop Manager with knowledge of the steelwork and heavy fabrication sectors. This position would suit an experienced operations/manufacturing manager looking for complete autonomy in their workshop along with a great work-life balance.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Consult with client to determine functional and technical requirements of the scope of work
    • Overlook workshop staff.
    • Collaborates with departments and supervision on a daily basis to prepare, plan, develop and oversee the manufacturing site, establishing priorities.
    • Building and communicating snapping schedules
    • Uses extensive knowledge of project scheduling, bids, take-offs, change orders, and contracts to properly identify and process scope changes, address issues, communicate regarding project milestones, etc.
    • Continuously develop relationships with prospective and current clients
    • Ensures all equipment, tools, and employees assigned to project operate in accordance with government regulations, customer requirements, and company policy and safety requirements.
    • Perform other duties as required

    Experience:

    Experience in managing and schedules in fabrication workshops.

    Experience and understanding of welding and fabrication within a structural or heavy fabrication workshop.

    Proven success in delivering high-quality projects on time and on budget.

    Strong conceptual thinker; strong critical thinking skills and problem-solving ability; able to multi-task and work under pressure; strong verbal and written communication skills

    Preferences:

    Associate's Degree in Engineering, or other related discipline. Professional experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
