- Receive, process, and label samples accurately and efficiently. Ensure proper storage and handling of samples to maintain sample integrity.
- Prepare samples for analysis according to established protocols and procedures. This may include centrifugation, aliquoting, and other sample processing techniques.
- Perform diagnostic tests using IDEXX Lab equipment and other laboratory instrumentation.
- Proficiently operate microscopes to examine slides for cellular abnormalities, microorganisms, and other diagnostic indicators. Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of microscopes.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the laboratory workspace. Keep supplies stocked and ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Monitor quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and precision of test results. Take corrective actions as needed to address any deviations from established quality standards.
- Communicate emergent results to veterinarians in a timely and accurate manner. Provide necessary information and support for interpretation of diagnostic findings.
- Record and maintain detailed documentation of laboratory procedures, test results, and quality control measures. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality assurance standards.
- Collaborate with other members of the veterinary team to provide comprehensive patient care. Assist veterinarians and technicians as needed in other aspects of patient care and treatment.
