Description
The Office Support Specialist is responsible for performing moderately involved clerical and administrative duties in the Health and Human Services Financial Services Department.
Responsibilities may include collecting, preparing, and reviewing information; processing applications, forms, licenses, permits and other documents; maintaining records and related system or database; public communications including committee minutes.
Job Duties
Provides advanced administrative support to departmental staff and/or other offices and agencies to ensure operational efficiency and coordination.
Performs front-desk and/or receptionist activities, including preparing, sorting, and/or posting mail or packets; coding and sending bills; greeting visitors; providing information and assistance in-person or via email, phone, and/or fax.
Composes, maintains, edits, transcripts, reviews, updates, scans and/or sends out a variety of routine and/or specialized documents and records, which may include correspondence, reports, transcripts, letters, spreadsheets, notices, licenses, and/or other related materials.
Maintains and updates a variety of online systems and databases to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of accurate and consistent data; work may include entering and processing data and resolving incomplete information.
Monitors and maintains office inventory, supplies, and/or equipment to ensure security and availability of equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D.; 2 years administrative support or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
