    Springfield College seeks applications for a visiting Assistant Professor of Sport and Exercise Psychology within the Department of Exercise Science and Athletic Training.

    This is a full-time, nine-month, one-year appointment within the School of Physical Education, Performance and Sport Leadership beginning August 2024.

    Expertise in the field and demonstrated excellence in teaching are expected.

    Responsibilities

    The position primarily (~75%) consists teaching courses in our sport and exercise psychology in-person and online graduate programs.

    Course assignments will likely include Sport Psychology, Applied Sport Psychology, and Internship in Sport Psychology but may vary based on expertise.

    Additionally, the faculty member will coordinate fieldwork placements (~25%), collaborating closely with the on-ground and online program directors with this process.

    Preference will be given to candidates who can bring diverse perspectives to this growing department and who are motivated to help graduate students succeed.

    Qualifications


    Required Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology or closely related field
    • Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Doctoral degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology or closely related field (ABD will be considered)
    • CMPC or registered mentor with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) by Fall 2024
    • Experience teaching graduate students in both face-to-face and online modalities
