We are excited to announce an opening for a Campus Store Assistant at Saint Xavier High School. This will be a part-time, school year position with the possibility of occasional summer hours if needed to support store social media presence and operations. Summary
The Campus Store Assistant plays a key role in the daily operations of the campus store during the school year by providing outstanding customer service, assisting with inventory management, supporting the promotion and sale of store products through social media, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers. This position supports the Campus Store Manager and other school staff to promote school spirit and the overall mission of Saint Xavier High School.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily operations of the campus store, including opening and closing procedures, restocking, and general upkeep.
- Provide friendly, helpful customer service to students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Support merchandising and inventory efforts, including unpacking, tagging, stocking, and organizing merchandise.
- Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system efficiently and accurately; handle cash, card transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Help fulfill and package online orders and assist with shipping or in-store pick-up coordination.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail space.
- Assist with promotional events, in-store sales, and merchandising tables at athletic or alumni events.
- Develop and coordinate all campus store social media efforts to promote merchandise, market the store, and generate excitement for events and special promotions.
- Assist with inventory level monitoring and communication of restocking needs.
- Serve as a backup to the Campus Store Manager in their absence.
- Train and support seasonal staff or volunteers as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Retail or customer service experience is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfort with retail technology and POS systems.
- Ability to move and lift boxes up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends for school events.
- Positive attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
