    JOB SUMMARY:
    The Rehab/Chiropractic Aide functions under the direct supervision of the Rehab Leadership, Chiropractor, and Therapists. The Rehab/Chiropractic Aide is responsible for preparing treatment areas, cleaning treatment areas, positioning patients, procurement and inventory of supplies, transporting, positioning and assisting patients, Therapists, Chiropractor, and Assistants in the successful completion of the treatment plan. The Rehab /Chiropractic Aide assists in the administering of treatment modalities as directed. The Rehab/Chiropractic Aide may be assigned routine clerical support tasks to support the patient care process. These functions are carried out according to hospital policy and the mission and vision of the hospital and consistent with the philosophy of the department.

    The Rehab/Chiropractic Aide participates in performance improvement and supports program development activities. Responsibilities include providing input into the budgetary planning process; contributing to cost effectiveness of services and programs provided by the department; communicating the employee's observations and suggestions related to opportunities for improvement; and maintaining positive relations with all customers.

    PROVISION OF CARE/SERVICES:

    1. Provides patient care services to patients of all ages from neonate to geriatric including:
    2. Prepares patient for prescribed treatment, assists professional staff with patient treatment as directed and must be knowledgeable in the following equipment (including but not limited to): hot packs, cold packs, Electrical Stimulation, ultrasound, MedX equipment, and game ready.
    3. Rooms Patients for Chiropractor, reviews patients intake and insurance forms, takes patient's vitals.
    4. Assists in the delivery of patient care as directed, including: transfers, ambulation, and vital signs.
    5. Reports significant events and actions promptly to the RN, PT, OT, ST, DC.
    6. File and manage paperwork to be scanned into medical record and assist patient with scheduling as needed.
    7. Communicates with patients, families, significant others and members of the healthcare team to promote maximum care benefit.
    8. Obtains equipment, materials, and supplies and prepares them for use. Responsible for maintaining appropriate supply inventory, daily temperatures on equipment, cleaning of hydroculator, paraffin bathe units, splinting pan, and ball pit according to required frequency.
    9. Maintains the department in a clean and orderly condition and cleans all equipment after use.
    10. Schedules and keep track of the peak performance program.
    11. Demonstrates competency and efficiency in medical record system including but not limited to the following: completing phone messages, printing of schedules, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
    12. Complete other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Must be 18 years of age or older.
    2. Successful completion of a nursing assistant program; current registration on the MN Nursing Assistant Registry preferred.
    3. BLS Certification or ability to obtain within two months of hire and maintain certification.
    4. Chiropractic Assistant training and Therapy experience preferred.
    5. Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
    6. Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
