    Description
    • Insures patient accounts are handled according tohospital policy and that contacts with the public are conducted ina concerned and efficient manner
    • Enter detailed notes explaining account activity in thePatient Accounts system
    • Determine and assist but not limited to qualifyingpatients for Indigent, Bankruptcy, Deceased, Financial Assistance,Medicaid eligibility, Presumptive eligibility
    • Reviews the daily census report to insure that in-houseaccounts have been reviewed for accurate demographic information,benefit eligibility, and prior authorizations
    • Bed-side visits are made to inform the patient of theircopay, insurance discrepancies, financial assistance, or any otherpertinent information required to complete the screeningprocess
    • Works with the Registration to insurethat insurance is verified and payment arrangements are made priorto the arrival of the patient.
    • Works with thepatients to obtain third party billing information but not limitedto personal liability, auto accidents
    • Worksclosely with the Registration, Billing and Cashiering sections ofthe Patient Accounts department to insure all activities regardingpatient accounts are completed in a timely and thoroughmanner
    • Handle's patient concerns and walk-insas needed
    • Submits newborn notifications to theOtero County Income Support Department
