    Child Psychologist - New Orleans, United States - Tulane University

    Description

    One full-time licensed psychologist will provide direct psychological services including psychological assessments, evaluations, treatment, and consultation for children of all ages, with a particular focus on children from birth to 6 years of age, at Tulane University School of Medicine.

    The psychologist will work with adult caregivers of children and will provide consultation to healthcare and other professionals. The psychologist will engage in research, teaching, and supervision in the medical school setting.


    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • PhD or PsyD in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology
    • Licensure in Psychology; license-eligible in Louisiana
    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:


    • Experience with infants, children and adolescents with developmental and/or mental health concerns
    • Interdisciplinary consultation and collaboration skills
    • Individual and dyadic therapy skills for children and adults
    • Psychological assessment and evaluation skills for infants, children, adolescents, and caregiver-child relationships
    • Experience in training other professionals and trainees
    • Skills to complete consultations and required documentation
    • Competent communication and writing skills
    • Flexibility and ability to organize and manage time independently

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience working with child welfare professionals
    • Experience participating as a member of an interdisciplinary team
    • Experience in supervision and teaching
    • Experience in consultation to allied professionals
    • Experience with infant mental health assessment and intervention
    • Experience with developmental and autism spectrum disorder evaluations
    • Experience with crisis intervention
