    Job Description

    Summary/Objective

    As the Culinary Director, you will take the lead on all culinary activities within the restaurant. This exciting role involves overseeing kitchen operations, training staff, planning delectable menus, managing product purchasing, and ensuring adherence to our culinary budget.

    Essential Functions

    1. Conduct thorough inspections of kitchen operations to ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation are consistently met.
    2. Coordinate comprehensive training programs for kitchen staff and service employees, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective training solutions.
    3. Devise and refine recipes and portion specifications based on consumer preferences, nutritional requirements, and cost-effective practices.
    4. Collaborate with operation managers to enhance plate presentations, create special event menus, and design innovative service areas.
    5. Prepare detailed operational reports, analyzing progress and trends to make informed recommendations for culinary improvements.
    6. Perform other related duties as necessary to support the team and business objectives.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    You will manage all employees within the culinary department, overseeing performance management and recruitment efforts.

    Work Environment

    This role involves working in a dynamic and bustling kitchen environment, which presents various kitchen hazards such as hot surfaces, sharp knives, and slippery floors.

    Physical Demands

    The position requires the ability to stand for extended periods and engage in physical activities such as walking, bending, and precise hand maneuvers for various kitchen tasks.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    Expect to work long hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed to ensure the success of culinary operations.

    No travel is required for this position.

    Required Education and Experience
    • A minimum of four years of progressive experience in high-volume food production or catering, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
    Preferred Education and Experience
    1. A Bachelor's degree with a focus on food preparation, management, nutrition, or a related field.
    2. Experience working as a chef in a diverse culinary setting.
