    PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

    Responsible for the financial reporting information for the GROWMARK wholesale business divisions and other GMK Subsidiaries, as assigned. Coordinates with the various divisions in the analysis of key financial performance indicators and develops and maintains system reporting mechanisms for these key performance indicators.

    SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP

    Supervises, leads, and develops the Staff Accountant and Accounting Specialist positions.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    Responsible for the preparation, analysis and communication of GROWMARK wholesale division financial statements, and any other assigned GROWMARK subsidiary statements.

    Leads the identification of relevant insights and the development of analytical reports and illustrations that support financial decision-making in the product areas supported.

    Responsible for the reconciliation of all assigned general ledger accounts related to the preparation of the division financial statements.

    Responsible for the control and reconciliation of varied and extensive derivative and mark to market accounting practices and associated data.

    Responsible for communicating with the product divisions and respective management regarding positions for use in risk management decision-making. Monitors position processes and data to confirm reporting accuracy and policy compliance.

    Recommends and monitors policies and procedures for pertinent cost, sales, and inventory accounting.

    Recommends changes and enhancements to the enterprise resource planning system. Provides leadership to Product Accounting employees in design, testing, and implementation of changes of the enterprise resource planning system in order to improve the quality of GAAP accounting, internal controls, financial reporting and processing efficiency.

    Leads the maintenance and development of accounting processes for pertinent areas to foster effective internal controls and high-quality GAAP accounting.

    Collaborates with product division personnel in obtaining information and solving problems relating to sales, cost of sales, inventory and any special programs. Provides analytical insight and the implications that GAAP accounting has on reported gross margins.

    OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

    Responsible for the area's review and preparation of assigned audit tasks for the annual audits by auditors and works directly with audit staff in resolving any audit related questions.

    Coordinates with the Director of Product Accounting on the interpretation of any GAAP accounting treatment of the financial statements.

    Responsible for encouraging, supporting, and promoting innovative practices, ideas, and technologies within the team.

    Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

    Performs all other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Normally requires a college degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or equivalent, a Certified Public Accountant designation and at least 7+ years of related experience to demonstrate the ability to provide product accounting and processing leadership to the GROWMARK System.

    Requires an understanding of and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), management accounting principles, financial decision-making, accounting information systems, business processes, cost accounting, risk management, hedging, internal controls, policies and procedures, compliance, and accounting strategic planning.

    Thorough understanding of SAP and other ERP system business processes, settings, and data structures preferred. Thorough understanding of information technology including competency in creating and implementing system development initiatives, and in the use and training of accounting software, data querying tools, data analytics tools and databases. Proven ability to use technology to enhance business processes.

    Proven supervisory and leadership skills including staffing, coaching, performance evaluation and the ability to achieve results through others.

    Proven professional communication, interpersonal, persuasion, and customer service skills.

    Demonstrated planning, organization, problem-solving, and project management skills.

    Proven team-building skills and the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

    Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

    Must have a valid driver's license and passport with the ability to work extended hours and travel independently overnight.

    Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
