    Description

    Intern of Sports Performance Available immediately – 3-6 months, depending on availabilityAverage 20 hours/week$12.50/hour Interns in the Sports Performance area will learn and assist in developing injury prevention and performance programs for Chattanooga FC's men's first team, women's first team, MLSNext youth, and performance camps. Interns may have interaction with the organization's Athlete Care, Doctors, and Technical staff.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Interns will learn and train under more senior and experienced Sports Performance Staff, and with training, will perform the following functions:

    • Assist in building, coordinating, and tracking player strength and conditioning plans per their specific needs and goals.
    • Assist aspects of the team's athletic performance assessment and monitoring processes.
    • Assist with interpreting player data along with general movement observations to build detailed strength training, conditioning, and injury prevention training requirements.
    • Contribute to the development and communication of corrective, rehabilitation, and return-to-play programs.
    • Assist in the evaluation of player movement performance and proficiency.
    • Assist with upkeep of performance training and sports science facilities, equipment, and technology.
    • Work with other members of the coaching staff to develop game plans and strategies
    • Coordinate maintaining accurate records of athlete's progress.



    Skills/Requirements:


    • Majoring in Sports Science, Kinesiology or related field
    • First aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain certification before starting the position
    • Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours/week in both a traditional office and remotely, as well as non-traditional hours for events and game days, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
    • Ability to multitask and handle a variety of projects.
    • Basic knowledge of soccer and professional sports landscape.
    • Strong communication skills and telephone etiquette.
    • Computer proficient with own personal laptop.
    • Available for credit in a college program at the Undergraduate or Graduate level and eligible for college credit. All internships will be paid.
    • Must have valid driver's license and own method of transportation.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Excellent at building trusting relationships
