    Job DescriptionSalary: $13.50 hourly

    Providence Hall is a charter school located in Herriman UT. Central to the school's mission is teaching students to think critically, communicate effectively, and act responsibly. Students at the high school engage in classes that prepare them for college and career readiness through the AP scholars program, concurrent enrollment, and CTE.

    Providence Hall seeks a highly skilled and enthusiastic part-time high school library assistant to join our team for the school year. As a high school library assistant you collaborate with the librarian on student engagement, maintaining the library as a resource hub, circulating items to students and staff, and managing the library space.

    Schedule:

    • Up to 20 hours/week during the school year on days when students are present
    • May need to attend some department, building, and LEA professional development, trainings and meetings

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain order and organization within the library and related areas.
    • Catalog and manage new materials.
    • Teach staff and students to find materials within the library.
    • Assist the librarian in collaboration with teachers to plan and teach lessons to classes.
    • Keep current with library rules, regulations, trends, and resources.
    • Open and/or close the library each school day.
    • Assist in decorating and designing the library for attractiveness and seasons.
    • Utilize technology daily to manage and promote reading and literacy.
    • Assist in management of classroom texts and materials, distribute and collect accordingly.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to support the school.
    • Maintain effective communication channels to ensure a collaborative learning community.
    • Actively participate in assigned meetings, professional developments, and other trainings.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
    • Previous experience working with children or adolescents, in an instructional setting preferred.
    • Good organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask easily.
    • Positive interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain calm in high-stress situations.
    • Willing to effectively problem-solving as needed.
    • Basic knowledge of Google Workspace and its collaboration tools.
    • Capacity to perform all the responsibilities listed in this posting.
    • Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, and professional references as a condition of employment.
    • Lift up to 25 pounds, traverse school facility, and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.
